Hello...

from the Carolinas, USA. I'm here in my home studio, trying to get a few creative ideas out of my head.
This blog is a glimpse of what I'm up to, have to share, or want to gab about.
I'm glad you're here! I love reading your comments. And you can always
Contact Me if you have a question, suggestion or just want to say hi.
See you next time!

You Name It!

What a sucker I am for certain fonts! At the thrift-shop recently,
I picked up a handbook on letter writing (and other correspondence).
Not only did I love the typeface, but the ficticious names used as
examples really tickled me, too. I cut out a few of my favorites.
Some were just funny:

Others would make great character names, don't you think? Maybe for
those doll sculpts I plan on making some day...

Or maybe I'll use a few in collages. And stuff. ^_^

Anyone else out thrift shopping? Hope you find something good!

I love to thrift shop. I buy 99.9% of my clothes at thrift stores. I've had to not stop at any for awhile (budget budget) . I'm saving up for next month. The Sun City near me is having their big yard sale. I can't get there until closer to the end but isn't that when you get rock bottom prices? I can't wait!!

This is just too funny Alisa! I love Mrs. Fiddlehead and Mrs. Antiquark! I wonder where gals like that would live? :-)

haha what wonderful names! I too am intrigued with fonts. I'm not a pack rack but some things you just have to keep: I still have my huge red cover book from college, Type and Lettering by Longyear.

Hi Alisa.

I've tagged you as one of my favorite blogs. If you would like to play, just go to my blog and answer the same questions and link to your 8 favorite blogs on your site. It's been a fun way to learn about some of the people you follow or who follow you.

I think in my next life I will be Dixie Nasturtium. It sounds posh, but not too...
